Filled with wonderful characters, a touching romance, and a wonderful message of forgiveness, Dangerous Heart is a moving western romance that I highly recommend.

Raised by outlaws, Ginger Freeman knows only one way of life.  She joined a wagon train heading west with a single goal…make doctor Grant Kelley pay for allowing her brother to die years ago.

An outbreak of cholera and an appearance by Ginger’s outlaw family threaten to ruin her plan.  However, the more she gets to know the people on the wagon train, particularly Grant, the less she wants to do him harm.  As time passes she learns about God’s love and forgiveness from the other pioneers and finds herself having feelings of a different nature for the doctor.  She also learns that things might not always be what they seem.

Grant is intrigued by the young woman, but the death of his wife still haunts him.  However, the more he gets to know Ginger, the more he wants to protect and care for her.  But things change when he learns about Ginger’s past and her secret mission.

Dangerous Heart is a well-written story filled with characters you can care about and a story that captures your attention.  The author brought all of the characters to life and drew me into their intriguing world.  As the hero and heroine, Ginger and Grant made a fascinating pair…both were what the other needed to heal and get over past hurts.  Insecure and unsure of her place in this world, Ginger was a character that one could easily relate to as she struggles with her past, present, and future.  She has much to deal with and I enjoyed watching her character grow and change throughout the book.  In addition to a great heroine, Dangerous Heart also featured a great hero in Grant. With his big heart and caring nature, Grant was a hero one could easily fall for, but his battles and frustration with the headstrong Ginger endeared him to me even more.

The many twists-and-turns of the story made sure I didn’t know what to expect next.  As Ginger learns more about herself, the past, and those around her, the reader is just as surprised as she is.  What she learns helps to shape and change her and makes the story even more intriguing.

As an inspirational romance, the message of faith, forgiveness, and God’s plan woven throughout the story was superbly done.  Ginger’s newfound friends help her to grow and change spiritually as she struggles with her need for revenge.

And although this is part of the Westward Hearts series, the book stands on its own.  While it made me curious about the other characters in the story, my enjoyment of the story was not hindered by the fact that I have not yet read the first two books.  However, if this book is any indication of what to expect in the series, I hope to rectify that soon and read the others.

I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of Dangerous Heart and look forward to reading more by this talented author.
